DESCRIPTION: France or Switzerland, mid 19th century pocket watch with Robin type lever escapement, 16 jewels, key wind and set, gilt Lepine calibre movement with cut bimetallic balance in a nickel, screw back and bezel display case, with Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, and gilt arrow hands, 53mm, c1850.
CONDITION: CASE: Case not original to movement; Minor dings, pin pricks and scratches; Bow and pendant replaced. DIAL: Hairline in enamel, 4:00 to 8:00. HANDS: Good, seconds replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Bright work with minor oxide; Click replaced, bent. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Ticks briefly, needs service.
